“We know where we’re going and we know who’s going with us….”, but where have we been?? Scroll down to find out……September 2023 onwards, our eighth year
Saturday 23rd & Monday 25th May 2026 Two super days at our home base of Woodgate Nursery. Thank you to all who donated great tombola prizes, those of you who came and bought tickets, who signed up as Friends and thoseof you who came to read about what we have been doing. Lovely to see you all, thank you so much.

Monday 4th May 2026 Great day the Itteringham Fayre, thanks to Laura and all her team. Thank you to all who supported us and good to see some lovely ARP Friends as well. It could have been a bit warmer, but a lot of people were interested in what we do and the metal detecting activity was in use all day, head still buzzing!

Tuesday 3rd March 2026 Thank you to Probus here in Aylsham for inviting us to deliver a talk to them this week. It was great to see you all and thank you for all your questions, interest and donations.

Saturday 21st February 2026 Really great to be at ARP Friend Kyran Demetri’s book launch. Sable’s Treasure is a children’s book written by Kyran and featuring Sable, Peter’s lovely black labrador. Although no longer with us, she lives again in the book. Thank you Kyran and mum Andrea for inviting us to the launch and for donating all profits to the Project.

Tuesday 10th February 2026 It was great to go again to St Michael’s Primary School here in Aylsham to talk about the Romans and what we have found. Children excitedly handled some pieces and asked many questions. Thank you for inviting us, we enjoyed our visit and your lovely thank you cards.
Monday 19th January 2026 An enjoyable evening at the town hall listening to the presentations from the Aylsham Show. Thank you so much. It was also great to see this full page spread in the EDP on the Saturday.

November/December 2025 Delighted to say we were again part of the Aylsham Christmas Tree festival. The church looked absolutely fantastic. We were there on the Saturday with our promotional items and tombola. It was a successful and busy morning and good to see several Friends too. Tree was decorated with trowels, kneelers, red white tape and photos of coins – just a little bit different to usual!

Sunday 19th October 2025 A lovely way to spend a couple of hours, at Haveringland church, Peter giving a talk about what we’ve been doing over the years and displaying some of our finds. Great to see some ARP Friends there as well. And let’s not forget the chocolate cake! Thank you so much for inviting us.

Saturday 20th September 2025 What a brilliant day at the Aylsham Heritage Centre, nearly 40 people came through the day to talk about what we are doing, look at resources, have a go at metal detecting, make a round house, do some mosaic work and handle some of what we found. Huge thank you to Jayne, having to clear the current display each time an event has taken place there, and then set it up again. And thank you to those who came to make the day for us.

Tuesday 16th September 2025 Great to be back at Aylsham Heritage Centre for Peter to give a HODS talk about what has been discovered at Woodgate. And great to see many new faces as well as some of our ARP friends in the audience. Thank you all for coming.

Thursday 4th September 2025 Great to be once again with the Aylsham WI in the town hall, where Peter was able to update them on what has been happening and share our discovery of a Roman bath house. A great deal of large tiles have been unearthed and he brought one or two, of the very many, large pieces with him for them to see. Thank you for inviting us.
