August Digs

Apart from Year 1, which was 2 weeks, our August digs cover three weeks, Monday to Friday, 1000 – 1530.

We are a community archaeology group – we welcome all, professional and amateur, able and not-so-able, young and not-so-young, working side by side, learning together, sharing the experience and enjoying the company.

August 2022 has now finished. Check back for August 2023 dates!

Become a Friend for £10 and sign up for our three week dig for just £40 an adult, £10 child under 16. Complete the online form by the end of June and be added to our rotas to ensure daily dig opportunities – there are always spaces, though, for all who arrive. Come for the day, £10 adult, £5 child under 16, family of four, two adults and two children, £25.

Depending on where we dig within the 30 acre site, there will be 2 or 3 excavation areas, plus one set aside for children. Toilets are available in all areas.
