“We know where we’re going and we know who’s going with us….”, but where have we been?? Scroll down to find out……September 2023 onwards, our eighth year
Saturday and Sunday 8th & 9th June 2024 A great weekend, the weather was better on the Sunday and more people came. Thank you so much to everyone who helped over the weekend, everyone who came and saw us, bought books, had a go on the tombola, signed up as a Friend, everyone who donated prizes, everyone who gave books. You have all added to two brilliant days once more at the Woodgate Garden Show.

Saturday 1st June 2024 Aylsham Community Fayre It was so good to be able to talk about what we do and share our enthusiasm with local people and those on holiday here or visiting family. Thank you all for stopping by and talking to us. And thanks to Cheryl for organising.

Wednesday 3rd April 2024 We had a great evening on Wednesday giving our presentation to the Sheringham History Society at The Museum. A lovely turn out, it was a pleasure to share what we have found with you all and we really appreciated the enthusiastic response. Do come and see us in August.

Tuesday 12th March 2024 Always good to visit the staff and Year 4 children at Bure Valley School here in Aylsham and talk for an hour about what we have found about the Romans on our site at Woodgate Nursery. Thank you for inviting us again, great to see the interest in the children and feel the excitement! We can’t wait to see what we can find this year.

Monday 15th January 2024 Very many thanks to the Aylsham Show committee for including us in their charitable donations. A full town hall heard really interesting stories last night from 55 different groups about how the money was to be spent.

Tuesday 9th January 2024 What a great way to start 2024! A walk round part of the site here at Woodgate led by Project leader Peter Purdy, who pointed out features which have appeared on the geophys, what they might be and whereabouts on the fields they are. This was enjoyed by all who came on a lovely sunny but very blustery morning. So good to see ARP Friends here and others, unable to make the walk round, sitting in the cafe where, of course, we ended up!

Tuesday 26th September 2023 At around 9.15 on Tuesday morning there was a very light shower of rain, about the same time in North Walsham it poured down, so what could we expect for the rest of Tuesday morning and our first session on the field since the Festival? Well, a warm sunny day! Great to meet up again, lots of gardening done and some finds sorted.

Saturday 16th September 2023 What a great day at Aylsham Town Hall. The place was buzzing from the time the doors opened, with all groups chatting to so many people. Thank you all for coming, it makes the day go quickly and is so good to hear your memories and answer your questions. Great, too, that Peter managed to find time to come as well before getting back to the Nursery. Here’s to next year!
Sunday 3rd September 2023 Another absolutely brilliant day at the Mannington Hall Charity Day. Great to see ARP Friends, talk with people who were really interested in what we are doing, want to get involved, children excited to pick up pieces of Roman pot, plus others saying they know where we are as they come for plants and/or stop for a scone and a cuppa! Thank you to everyone, you made our day.
