What’s been happening Yr4

“We know where we’re going and we know who’s going with us….”, but where have we been?? Scroll down to find out……September 2019 onwards, our fourth year

Friday 21st August 2020 Thwarted by the virus and then the wind! Our meeting on what would have been the last day of this year’s dig was affected by the strong wind. Some of you couldn’t make it for safety reasons and we really missed you. Those who did were buffeted and blown and scrambled to chase finds and photos that were blown across the field. We did, though, meet and it was so good to see all of you who were able to make it. Thank you all for your continued support, your purchases and donations, without you there would be no Aylsham Roman Project. We keep our fingers crossed that next year will be different.

Thursday 20th August 2020 A first for us! Peter and Sheila gave an on-line talk to The Rotary Club of Aylsham, UK about our history and finds via a presentation and live images of some finds. Thank you for asking us and another thank you for your very kind donation to our funds. So involved, never got round to taking any photos!

Thursday 13th August 2020 Woodgate Nursery was visited by Jerome Mayhew, Broadland MP, along with Hal Turkmen. He spoke to Peter and had a tour of the Nursery, and was also interested in the Project. Many thanks for your visit.

Friday 13th March 2020 Our third Quiz Night was a resounding success! A great night was had by all, thank you all for supporting us and joining in the fun. Many thanks to all who helped set up and clear away at the end, those helping with refreshments and the raffle sellers. A huge ARP thank you, though, to Nigel and Deborah for organising it , a great variety of questions, can we book you again for next year?

Saturday 7th March 2020 We were invited to the Rotary Club of Aylsham’s 67th Charter Night dinner . The Project has been chosen as one of this year’s groups to receive donations. We are very grateful for your support and aim to put it towards the continuation of our Schools’ Archaeology Week. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
